I have been a Vocation Director since 2003 and an SSJ Volunteer Coordinator since 1996. I have also been a Public Health Nurse since 1975.

I have been involved in formation ministry for the last ten years. Besides formation, my past ministries include working with youth groups and teaching media literacy to teachers, young people, and seminarians.

I have had a passion for vocation ministry throughout my religious life and have done it concurrently with my assigned nursing and administrative duties. Right now I am on our national Vocation Team.

Because I am still new to this ministry, my “technique” is looking to more seasoned vocation ministers to glean their best practices.  There are so many wonderful people doing amazing things.

It's great to connect with other vocation directors and learn what's worked and what hasn't—as well as know that I'm not alone!

The NRVC has been very helpful to me as I’ve begun my role as a vocation director, a new experience for me. The workshops have significantly contributed to my personal, spiritual, and educational development.

NRVC offers ready access to people who have served in this role for years and can share wisdom and insights. It also offers courses and webinars to enhance the skill set of each vocation minister.

The amount of resources that are available to vocation directors through NRVC membership is great. Working together with other vocation directors over the years has been invaluable. 

Being part of NRVC has been invaluable. The training and formation, especially as a new director, helped me gain footing and set goals. 

NRVC has encouraged me to develop and share my gifts in a community of shared learning, helping me grow in both competence and confidence as a servant leader.
